A not for profit organization dedicated to maintenance of the San Joaquin River watershed by working with public land owners, educational groups, and individual volunteers, on public lands to educate the public on environmental issues concerning the San Joaquin River watershed.
At RiverTree we lead efforts to preserve and enhance the San Joaquin River and its surrounding areas through a variety of initiatives. We sponsor river and public property cleanups, organize canoe trips and hikes along the river, and oversee several restoration projects aimed at revitalizing its natural habitat. Additionally, we actively participate in maintaining Riverbottom Park.
Our activities extend to invasive weed and graffiti removal, contributing to the cleanliness and aesthetics of our community spaces. Notably, RiverTree has removed 8,444 tires and approximately tons of trash annually along the San Joaquin River.
We have been involved in the development of the San Joaquin River Trail from Lake Millerton to Reds Meadow, spanning 75 miles. You can see one of our canoes along the Small Fry Trail at the Friant Fish Hatchery, where we have assisted in maintaining and enhancing recreational opportunities and promoting conservation awareness.
River Tree Volunteers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
